In my studies of reports on OCHA Relief Web, so far I have come across the following NGOs active in Japan:

I know this is NOT a complete list.  Many of these groups I am not familiar with.  Some of them I know did work in Haiti from great to lousy (varies with the NGO).

Various charities sharing news of the disasters, and announcing what action they have already taken, or that they are standing by to provide whatever aid will be needed,[1] such as:  Some have said they traditionally only do relief in developing nations, but the disaster was so catastrophic in Japan, they are making an exception in this case.
