Please see attached documents for your use.  The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Japan´s Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency (NISA) provides their latest updates on the status of the affected nuclear power plants.   The journal Radiology in its “Medical Response to a Major Radiologic Emergency: A Primer for Medical and Public Health Practitioners” offers a good guide on medical care with many useful illustration, decisions tree-diagrams and a very current reference section.  The “Disaster Risk Management Profile – Kobe Japan” provides an overview of the Japanese National Disaster Management structure.  The IAEA”s “International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale” handout is provided as is the IAEA’s  ”Joint Radiation Emergency Management Plan of the International Organizations”.  The purpose of this document is to operationalize the Convention on Assistance in the Case of a Nuclear Accident or Radiological Emergency (the ‘Assistance Convention’)  by co-coordinating the “arrangements of the relevant international intergovernmental organizations (‘international organizations’) for preparing for and responding to radiation incidents or emergencies.”  Lastly, please see the most recent IAEA’s Manual for First Responders to a Radiological Emergency” which describes the international action guide for these types of events. Many of these documents might also have value with our domestic planning processes.
